Alcoa continues to back female engineers
Nominations are now open for the Alcoa Bev Corless Women in Engineering Scholarships. The one-year scholarships, valued at $5,000 each are open to full-time female students at Curtin University enrolled in their second, third, fourth or fifth year of studies. Eligible engineering courses include Civil and Construction, Chemical, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Mining, and Metallurgical.

Life-saving mental health program in Pinjarra

Coast Care and Alcoa volunteers throw seed bombs
Thanks to Alcoa, more than 40 volunteers have come together recently to “seed bomb” the Bouvard coast in a bid to maintain the fragile dune ecosystem. Rehabilitation benefits local environment and business
Alcoa continues to successfully rehabilitate the area it mines for bauxite in the Peel and South West regions of Western Australia with the company completing another successful planting season that was also a boon for local businesses and local employment. More than 220,000 plants were put in across 412 hectares of previously mined land – the same size as 192 Optus Stadium football fields.

Alcoa celebrates 40 years on tour
More than 630,000 visitors have toured Alcoa’s operations in Western Australia over the last 40 years – a similar number to the entire population of the Gold Coast in Queensland. Community Landcare Initiative Continues to Thrive in its 20th Year
The Swan Alcoa Landcare Program (SALP) celebrated its 20th anniversary today, delivering $338,000 in grants to 25 community volunteer groups in the Swan Region. The community groups will deliver 53 environmental protection projects in the Swan Canning catchment. Local volunteers were recognised for their extensive contributions to projects ranging from weed and feral animal control, restoration of natural areas of bushland, water quality and rehabilitation of threatened species at a ceremony held in Kings Park today.
