Interim Vice President Operations Australia

Tanya Simmonds, Interim Vice President Operations Australia is responsible for Alcoa’s Australian Assets comprising two bauxite mines, three alumina refineries and an aluminium smelter. She is also a Director of Alcoa of Australia Limited.

Tanya has 25 years’ financial management and leadership experience attained locally and internationally. Since joining Alcoa in 2005, she has held several senior finance positions Victoria and Western Australia accumulating significant business knowledge. Prior to her current appointment, and since 2019, Tanya was Finance Director Australia with responsibility for finance and accounting across the Alcoa operations and headquarters in Australia. Before this, she was the Alumina Business Unit Financial Controller, with finance and accounting accountability for the Company’s global alumina portfolio.

Tanya has a Bachelor of Commence and Science from The University of Melbourne and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

Tanya lives in Perth with her husband Nigel and has a son and two daughters.
