Executive Vice President and Chief External Affairs Officer
Nicol Gagstetter is Executive Vice President and Chief External Affairs Officer. Nicol is responsible for global government affairs, community relations, communications, Alcoa Foundation, and sustainability in support of the Company’s strategic priorities. Nicol is a member of the Alcoa Executive Team, which sets strategic direction for the Company.
Prior to joining Alcoa, Nicol served as Global Head of Environment and Social, Copper Industrial Assets at Glencore. In this role, Nicol had responsibility for environment, social performance, communities, security, human rights, and external affairs, including working with four major joint ventures across North and South America. Prior to joining Glencore, Nicol held progressive regional and global roles at Rio Tinto across its copper, energy, and minerals portfolios.
Nicol obtained a BA in Environmental Science and International Studies from Northwestern University and earned her MS in Watershed Science from Utah State.
